At this time, I take a tour with the netapp simulator.

I just want to setup this on a testsystem, running in a vmware debian session on a ubuntu host.

Ok, in the first try, I don’t get the simulator network to run. The vmware client has a proper installed network. But the simulator need promisc mode to work.

Now a tip: to enable the promisc mode for a network in a vmware, make a chmod a+w on the /dev/vmnet0 (or the right networkcard) and restart the vmware client.

If you add more disks, it may be that there will the massage:

to make this disk working, login into the filer and use:

>priv set diag
*>disk unfail -s v5.16
